The UCSF Student-run Homeless Clinic is comprised of UCSF medical students, medical residents, and physicians, as well as undergraduate volunteers from USF. We have served a diverse group of homeless and transiently-housed people in San Francisco since 1992.
The clinic is located in the Multi-Service Center South, a shelter run by the St. Vincent De Paul Society of San Francisco, and serves shelter residents there from 6-9pm on most Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Care is provided by a team of first and second-year medical students together with a UCSF physician or resident. Services provided include urgent care, TB testing, dermatological care on some clinic days, and community resource referrals.
Our mission is to serve as an urgent care clinic for shelter residents, as well as an entryway to the San Francisco healthcare system through referrals to city-run clinics and hospitals, and other community resources.
